Community & Country

Returning value to community and shareholders.

NME’s partnership with the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC) enables NME to return value and generate wealth for its local community in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, while also generating returns for shareholders.

The relationship

Working with WTAC.

NME and Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (WTAC) are building a partnership-led platform for responsible mining and exploration in Western Australia. WTAC is the prescribed body corporate for the Nyalpa Pirniku people, representing Native Title interests across approximately 30,900 square kilometres.

The partnership operates through two distinct commercial arrangements: a WTAC-funded incorporated joint venture pursuing new project opportunities, and a separate profit-sharing and empowerment agreement for the Kookynie Gold Tailings Project. By combining WTAC’s funding and deep connection to Country with NME’s project capabilities, the partnership can advance opportunities through a capital-light model while supporting sustainable development and long-term community participation.
